Spenger's Announces Backpack Drive to Help Underprivileged Youth

In the spirit of helping those in need during the upcoming “back to school” season, Spenger's Fresh Fish Grotto in Berkeley has announced a month-long school backpack collection drive to be held during August, organized to provide backpacks for underprivileged children via The Berkeley Boosters/Police Activities League (PAL).

Throughout the August back to school Backpack Drive, Spenger’s will give away a $10.00 dining certificate in exchange for every new or good condition backpack dropped off at the restaurant. This gift certificate is good towards lunch or dinner at Spenger’s.

The Berkeley Boosters PAL program hosts after school recreational activities such as arts and crafts, camping, hiking, basketball, soccer, swimming, tutoring and youth leadership programs, plus summer camp, for the youth of Berkeley. For more information visit www.berkeleyboosters.org.

Spenger’s Fresh Fish Grotto has been one of the Bay Area’s best-known culinary destination points for over 110 years. Adding to the Spenger’s experience are the unique nautical paraphernalia and historic collectibles that are on display throughout the restaurant. Visit Spenger’s on the web at www.spengers.com. The restaurant is located at 1919 Fourth Street in Berkeley, California, and the telephone number is (510) 845-7771.
