Urban Tavern in downtown San Francisco has announced that they have partnered with Shorenstein Hays Nedelander (the Shorenstein Theatre Group) to offer a pre-theatre dinner package available daily until further notice.
Priced at $34.95, the package includes a three-course prix fixe meal, a glass of wine and five hours of complimentary parking. For an additional $15.00 per person, guests will be transported, via town car or limo, to and from the theatre that they will be attending.
The package is valid with proof of a theatre ticket for a Shorenstein Hays Nedelander performance and guests should mention this package when booking their reservation.
Urban Tavern serves American gastropub cuisine prepared with seasonal, fresh, often locally sourced organic ingredients.
The interior design at Urban Tavern is the creation of restaurateur Donna Scala and Gensler Design. Highlights include a striking full-size horse sculpture by Arizona artist Doug Owen welded together from tractor, motorcycle and car parts, underscoring Urban Tavern’s green sensibilities while juxtaposing old and new, rural and urban - elements found throughout the restaurant. Also notable are the intimate booths, reclaimed wood beams and claddings, a communal table made from a recovered fallen tree, plaster walls, exposed concrete, a marble-topped bar and saddle-shaped bar stools.

Cetrella, now reopen after a winter hiatus, has introduced a new Executive Chef, Sylvain Montassier. Chef Montassier has enhanced the restaurant’s award winning Mediterranean fare by infusing a new suite of spring menus with progressive French technique and flair.

Sunday Brunch at Cetrella ($35.00 plus a la carte options) features the progressive French cuisine of Executive Chef Sylvain Montassier who hails from the Saumer culinary academy and the French kitchens of Jean Bardet, Michel Gaudin, Georges Blanc, and, in Switzerland, the Hotel du Rhone, in England, The Waterside Inn and The Savoy, and, stateside, Boulevard in San Francisco, and Alinea, TRU and Isabella's Estiatorio in Chicago. Montassier’s French technique complements locally sourced ingredients such as wild diver and line caught seafood and pedigreed meats and poultry including Alaskan halibut, American Kobe short ribs, and artisanal products from Balakian, Daylight, Giusti, Harley, Iacopi and Pastorino farms. Desserts include strawberries with roasted marshmallow and a chocolate mousse bar.
The Opera San Jose artists performing will be Rebecca Schussler (Soprano), Betany Coffland (Mezzo Soprano), Alexander Boyer (Tenor) and Krassen Karagiozov (Baritone). There will be a raffle conducted during the brunch with the prize, donated by Opera San Jose, being a certificate for a pair of season opening night tickets to the opera Manon, on September 12, 2009.
